A digital design aficionado, Joanna has been tackling Adobe applications since the year 2000. Graduating from SCAD with a BFA in Fibers, she studied sustainable textile production and apparel construction. After graduating, Joanna did what nearly every art school grad does: she moved to the Big City.
After a few years in New York freelancing, working for the African Rainforest Conservancy and Regas Studio and traveling as a stylist/photo assistant with Inspirato, Joanna moved to Philadelphia. Combining her affinity for sustainability and creative leadership, she worked as the branch manager of a men’s bespoke suiting atelier. Looking to apply her photography and design skills to the fashion world, she joined the team at Joan Shepp in 2018, where she held an Art Director and Marketing Manager position. In January of 2020, she took on the role of Art Director and Senior Graphic Designer at LAGOS.
The pandemic reinvigorated Joanna’s focus on freelance and contract work with a primary focus on client Angela Monaco Jewelry. Applying her jewelry industry knowledge, Joanna helped rebrand AMJ through design and photography.
Joanna’s work focuses on storytelling through digital and print media. Neck-deep in everything analog, Joanna enriches her work with explorations in film photography, printmaking processes, hand-drawn typography and watercolor painting. She believes design should start with the hand. She combines her marketing knowledge with her passion for creative writing, graphic design skills and extensive photography experience to create compelling and beautiful brand stories. With 15 years in client-facing industries, she is intuitive and anticipatory.
